How to open your new art book

Apropos to the essays on art I've just been reading, here's something I discovered inside an 1896 book I've just been cataloguing for the Stratford-Perth Archives:



And if you're reading simply a regular novel and not a huge, oversized art book, here is another set of instructions.

  3. One of the benefits of cataloguing older books is coming across ephemera like this. I especially enjoy #8 - "if books should be delivered to you in cold weather" - it makes me laugh.
