The Meme of Four

Janefan at Austentatious has just tagged me with the Fours meme. Since I'm reading Jane Austen's "The Watsons" currently, I think it's a sign that I should do this meme from Janefan.

Four jobs I have had or currently have in my life:

1. Nanny (worst job EVER. Avoid if possible)

2. Raffle ticket seller. For 3 months straight.

3. Restaurant dogsbody

4. All-purpose Librarian

Four countries I have been to:

1.U.S.A.

2. Canada - I'll have to count my home country or I'll only have one.

3. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be able to say "Ukraine"

4. Nowhere else!

Four places I’d rather be right now:

1. Kiev

2. At the lake

3. Saskatoon

4. If I was at work, I'd say "at home". Since I'm at home, I'm really quite happy staying here. :)

Four foods I like to eat:

1. Chocolate

2. Veggie muffaletta

3. Perogies

4. Frozen peas. Really.

Four people that I would like to tag:

1. Dani at A Work in Progress

2. Duck Thief at Great White North

3. Jill at Individual Take

4. Literary Feline at Musings of a Bookish Kitty

  1. Hi Melanie--Thanks for tagging me--I will do this meme in the next couple of days! :) What exactly is veggie muffaletta? It sounds like it could be yummy--I'm with you on chocolate being #1 though! Did you sell raffle tickets at a place or did you have to go door to door?

  2. This looks like a fun blog. :-) Thanks for tagging me, Melanie!

I'm afraid my country visits will look much like yours. I've only been to three-mine included. Haha I need to get out more.

  3. I was a Nanny too- for relatives. It's a tough job.

I've never been out of the country. How sad is that?!

  4. I'll echo Melanie's question about the Veggie Muffaletta.

Also, I notice perogies and the Ukraine in your meme- is this a part of your heritage or just an interest you've picked up?

  6. Literary Feline - that is what I hoped you meant! :)

Chris - yes, I still shudder when I think about my stint as a nanny. UGH.

Danielle - I sat in a mall for 6 days a week selling draw tickets for a truck. See my earlier post of Feb. 25 for more detail!

John - I do have a Ukrainian background, on my Dad's side. All the Ukrainian-ness didn't really rub off though; I can't speak it or do any of the arts & crafts. Only cook.
And I'll have to post a bit of info on my favourite muffaletta!

  9. Wow, Melanie.
Judging from your answers, you are either severely Ukrainian, or are married to one!
I myself am as Ukrainian as borscht, and hail from Regina, having most of my family living in Saskatoon and surrounding environs [Warman].
    All the best to you.

  10. Yes, I think my answers gave it away! I hail from PA, and the Ukrainian side of my family came from Wakaw, but we are now all spread out all over SK and AB, mainly.
