A short list this time -- three great reads on topic.
1. In Search of lost time / Marcel Proust
The master of recall, this enormous novel is rewarding when you've finally found the time to attempt it. It is really extraordinary. Once you read it your perceptions will never be the same.
2. The Madonnas of Leningrad / Debra Dean
A first novel -- unbelievable -- it is a marvellously written story of the power of art and memory to keep life liveable, and of the bittersweet nature of memory's loss.
3. Losing my mind / Thomas de Baggio
A heartbreaking memoir by a man who is one of my heroes. He is a beautiful writer, and this stunning, angry memoir of his experience in being diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's makes you wonder whether the universe actually has meaning if this can happen.
