Here I am! Boy, am I tired....16 hours of travel but it's great to be here. Already been out to eat baked potatoes and drink Ukrainian beer. :)
And here's the train station; we took a bus into town from the airport and switched over at the train station. Doesn't it look marvellously Gogolesque?
What great photos! And it sounds like you are having a marvelous time. Can't wait to hear more.
ReplyDeleteMelanie, have a great vacation! When you come back home, do share the books you will buy with us!
ReplyDeleteAnd... do share what you wound up taking with you to read! I just finished (and reviewed) The Master and Margarita -- which I ADORED -- so I would be very interested to see if you brought it. And what else, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I hope you're having a wonderful time.
I love all the pictures! What book did you buy? I can't make it big enough to see the title. :)
ReplyDeleteStefanie - it's been great; haven't been able to blog much though!
ReplyDeleteMyrthe - Oh, I will! I have to remember that I have to pack them all home.
jenny - I did bring Master & Margarita! I'm nearly done now, and I've seen Bulgakov's monument.
Eva - Whoops, I don't know why it won't enlarge. It is Maria Prihara's The Cossack Holota : stories based on ancient Ukrainian ballads It's a children's book with lovely illustrations.
