I am sorry that I've been away from my blog for a while; family things happen that require one's full attention.
But just a quick note since I'm back: I held in my hands today at the library the recently released Remembering the Bones by Frances Itani. This book is fantastic - you can read my gushing review way back from the summer when I was lucky enough to get an ARC. And most happily, the cover that I mentioned in that review - the one I loved on the ARC, pictured here - is the final cover. I think the moodiness of the open blue-grey sky and the wee little Queen's head poking up at the bottom is a brilliant evocation of this story. Can I just mention again how much I loved this book?
I disliked her Deafening so much that I don't think I'm ready to try another by her.
ReplyDeleteJohn - oh, that's too bad. I know so many people loved Deafening. I think this book is much different; a simpler narrative somehow. Anyhow, I loved it.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover too. It demonstrates good design which manages to catch the eye with grace. From a marketing point of view it hits all the right buttons.
ReplyDeleteI like the cover, too. And your review! This will go on my list. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteFamily is always more important. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nicely done cover.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading this one. Thanks for the great review.
